"Applied Mechanics" is very important for Civil Engineers. In your coming semesters, you are going to need it's concept for subjects like "Theory Of Structures"(II/II) , "Strength Of Materials" (II/I).
I feel that the concept of Beam And Frame , Truss, Moment Of Inertia and other similar topics must be clear for an civil engineering student.
If you're feeling bore attending lectures of "Beam And Frame" and "Truss" in your class, just leave the class. I suggest you to view the video carefully. Don't skip any portion. The "Ellipse Rule" given in the video really helps you to find the nature of the curve in SFD and BMD.
