Engineering Geology I (II/I)

Namaste,

Engineering Geology is a subject whose knowledge and ideas are needed to a Civil Engineer before starting any project. E.g. if a dam construction project is to be started then a Civil Engineer should know about the type of rock in which the basement of dam is located whether it's Igneous rock or Sedimentary or Metamorphic. Is there any faults, folds or any discontinuities that a Civil Engineer should be aware of.

Fluid Mechanics (II/I)

Fluid Mechanics is a subject that needs some basic ideas of +2 knowledge like Bernoulli's equation, Law Of Conservation of Energy etc. And the knowledge gained in this subject is needed for your other subjects in coming semesters like Hydraulics (II/II) , Water Supply Engineering(III/I) , Engineering Hydrology (III/I) and many more. So, it's a core subject for a Civil Engineering Student.

The half of the portion of this subject is covered by Numericals from the point of view of marks weightage and also periods needed. So, numerical s can't be ignored in this subject.
